Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When you enter a name or a date of birth into one of the search tools here, the input goes directly to the outside company that runs that tool. The provider processes the query and returns the results. We do not keep or log the terms you type.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, we hold onto the message so we can write back. It stays with our team and is not passed to anyone outside the organization unless the law requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each time a page loads, our servers record a few technical details about the visit:
- The IP address your device is using
- The browser you are running and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- Which pages you opened and how long each stayed on screen
- The site that referred you, when there is one
- A timestamp for every page view
Cookies and Analytics
We set cookies, which are small files your browser stores, to see how people move through the site: which pages draw the most visits and where readers stop. Analytics services help us total that traffic up. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time, though a few parts of the site may act differently if you do.
What We Do With This Data
The data above is used for a short list of practical purposes, and nothing else.
- Keeping the site online and loading quickly
- Passing your search to the right partner service
- Seeing which pages help readers and which need work
- Finding and fixing technical problems
- Serving ads that may reflect your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, build, maintain, or sell any database of warrants or personal warrant-record information. What we publish is general guidance about where Fillmore County warrant records sit and how to check them through the District Court, the Sheriff, and the Minnesota case system. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we gather about visitors is turned into a consumer report or a file on a third party.
Third-Party Search Partners
The search boxes here are supplied by outside companies. Whatever you type into one of those tools is handled under that partner's privacy policy rather than this one. Partners decide their own retention and sharing practices, and we do not control them. Read the partner's policy before you submit a search.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to court pages, county and sheriff offices, legal aid organizations, and other search tools. Following one of those links takes you away from this site, and from that point the destination's privacy policy governs your visit. Read it before you hand over personal details.
Some advertising partners track activity across sites to target the ads you see. That tracking happens on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. A limited amount of information may reach:
- Search partners that process the queries you run here
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and page performance
- Ad networks that serve the ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or a government body when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard security practices to guard the data we collect. Nothing online is guaranteed safe, though. We take reasonable steps to protect your information and cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is built for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us data, contact us and we will remove it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Minnesota's data practices law, the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act at Minnesota Statutes Chapter 13, sets how state and county offices handle the personal data they keep and how the public asks for a copy. Where our own site is concerned, you can still ask us to:
- Give you a copy of what we hold about you
- Correct information that is wrong
- Erase the data we have on you
- Stop certain kinds of processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change. When it does, the revised version appears on this page with a new effective date, so you can check back if you want to follow how your information is handled.
